Schurrle pleased with Chelsea preseason

The Germany international scored his first goal for the club in a friendly win over AC Milan on Sunday, and believes Chelsea can carry its form into the new league campaign.
Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle feels confident ahead of the new campaign after Jose Mourinho's side extending its winning streak in preseason.

The 22-year-old, a summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen, scored his first goal for the Blues in Sunday's International Champions Cup win over AC Milan.

The victory maintained Chelsea's 100 percent preseason record and Schurrle believes it bodes well ahead of the Premier League opener against Hull City on Aug. 18.

"I'm really happy to have scored my first goal, it's preseason but it always feels good to score," he told the club's official website. "It was my first for Chelsea so it was a really nice day for me.

"It's gone very well, we've played five games and won five games. Of course, nothing is perfect, but we've played well in every match. There are two weeks until the start of the season, and we will be away with our national teams for some of that time, but the team is looking good. It's always good to win for the confidence and team spirit."

Chelsea will face Real Madrid in the competition's final on Wednesday in Miami, a fixture which will see manager Mourinho take on his former employer for the first time.
