Luiz to miss Chelsea’s ICC final against Real Madrid

The Brazilian defender has been ruled out of the Blues' last ICC match as they step up their preparations ahead of the new campaign against Jose Mourinho's former side.
David Luiz has been ruled out of Chelsea’s Guiness International Champions Cup final against Spanish giant Real Madrid through injury.

Luiz sat out Chelsea’s 2-0 win over AC Milan on Monday and will also miss the game against last season’s La Liga runner-up in a match that will see Jose Mourinho take on his former club. The club confirmed via its official Twitter account that the center back is still carrying a hamstring problem, which ruled him out of the clash with the Rossoneri.

Luiz has been heavily linked with a summer move away from Stamford Bridge, as Barcelona reportedly prepared a bid of nearly 30 million euros to try and bring him to Spain. Mourinho, though, has stated that the Brazil international will not be leaving the club, even though he conceded he hopes to help Luiz improve his game defensively.
