Bojan hints at Serie A 'arrogance'

The 22-year-old is hoping to enjoy a new lease of life with the capital club and says his team-mates are more modest people than those he has previously played with.

Ajax forward Bojan Krkic has taken a swipe at Serie A after revealing he is enjoying his football in the Eredivisie because "people are not arrogant" there.

The Barcelona starlet completed a season-long move to the Amsterdam Arena this summer following indifferent spells with Roma and AC Milan respectively.

But the 22-year-old believes he may enjoy a more fruitful time in the Netherlands than previous leagues due to the people around him having humble personalities.

He told Marca: "It's a great city on many levels. It has a very distinctive culture and a new philosophy, which I'm learning. They know what they want here and they are very well organised.

"Working on a daily basis with people like [Dennis] Bergkamp, [Jaap] Stam or Frank de Boer is fantastic, it helps a lot. My spirits are lifting again because I feel like a key part of the team. I feel very happy.

"Every team wants to play good football and has young players. They don't go out to defend. That makes football fun in Holland.

"People aren't arrogant here either. Footballers are much more modest and are very positive. The league itself is very appealing."
