Catania have announced the signing of Argentina international Gino Peruzzi from Velez Sarsfield for an undisclosed fee.
Sunderland had been reported to be leading the chase for the 21-year-old, but he has instead joined the Rossazzurri, who are believed to have
paid approximately €3.4 million for the versatile right-back.
"Catania announces that it has acquired outright the sporting rights of Gino Peruzzi Lucchetti," read a statement released on the Serie A side's official website on Tuesday evening.
Peruzzi, who came through the youth team ranks at Velez Sarsfield, has been capped four times by his country.
