Kirchhoff: Pep's planning is meticulous

The 22-year-old joined Bayern Munich from Mainz in the summer and, as well as praising his coach's methods, he hopes to learn from his new team-mates

Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchhoff says that he is very impressed with Pep Guardiola's level of planning and coaching at Allianz Arena.

The 22-year-old joined the European champions from Mainz this summer, having agreed a deal in January this year, and he has loved playing under the Spaniard in his short time at the club so far.

"He is very well prepared and always knows what to convey to us in meetings well before they take place," Kirchhoff

told SPOX.

"He speaks very fluent German and if he ever escapes into English he will say words that are very easy to understand. He is very personable and he will always be very understanding if we don't understand what he says.

"You can always dream about what playing for a club like Bayern is like, but it's only when it actually happens that you realise how beautiful a club it is."

Kirchhoff, who can be deployed as a defensive midfielder as well as a defender, says learning from top players like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara will only help him improve further as a player.

"I look forward to every minute I spend playing with midfielders of such quality," he added.

"I enjoy playing in midfield and if the coach wants to use me in that role I would be more than happy playing there. He has shown that he trusts me in the holding position in front of the defence and that pleases me."

Bayern kicked off their Bundesliga season with a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday.
