Maxwell joins Scolari's Brazil for Switzerland friendly

The 31-year-old is in line to earn his first cap at the international level following his call up to Selecao for the friendly in Europe in August.

Luis Felipe Scolari handed a first call up to Maxwell for Brazil's friendly with Switzerland in an otherwise unchanged squad from the successful Confederations Cup campaign.

The Selecao travel to
Basel on Aug. 14 fresh off the back of their tournament success earlier this summer, in which they beat world champion Spain 3-0 in the final.

And it seems the 64-year-old is wary of tinkering with a tried-and-tested formula by naming a near-identical selection to that which swept all before them last month, with the Paris Saint-Germain defender the only fresh inclusion.
