Juventus suffer Marchisio blow

The midfielder has suffered a "first-second degree tear" of his medial collateral ligament and will now be missing for over a month.

Juventus have confirmed that Claudio Marchisio will be out for a period of between 30 to 35 days, after he picked up an injury during Sunday's Super Cup victory over Lazio.

Goals from Paul Pogba, Giorgio Chiellini, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Carlos Tevez secured the trophy for the Bianconeri on Sunday.

But with the success came a

major setback, as Marchisio suffered a torn ligament during the match at Stadio Olimpico.

"Claudio Marchisio today underwent an MRI scan at Turin’s Fornaca Clinic after taking a knock during the first half of last night’s Super Cup clash with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The scan of the midfielder’s right knee revealed a first-second degree tear of his medial collateral ligament.

"He is expected to be sidelined for a period of between 30 and 35 days."
