Cavani frustrated by Ajaccio draw

The Uruguayan attacker opened his account with les Parisiens on Sunday against Ajaccio but believes the side deserved all three points from the tie

Edinson Cavani has vented his frustration despite scoring his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain following the side's 1-1 draw with Ajaccio.

The Uruguayan striker, who joined from Napoli for an estimated €63 million this summer, saved the hosts' blushes with an equaliser four minutes from time, but is adamant they deserved more than a share of the spoils.

"This is football," he told L'Equipe after the home draw. "We deserved to win. We had so many opportunities. But we will improve gradually - with hard

work, we will achieve our aims.

"This was my first goal for the club and it was nice, but it does not do much good if you do not win at the end. At least it allowed us to believe."

The former Palermo man went on to say that his partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimovic will begin to bear fruit shortly.

"There is no problem between Zlatan and I," he added. "We are complementary, that's for sure. With time, we will be even better on the pitch."

PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi hopes that his star signing this summer will use his opening strike to inspire him to top form and fitness and predicts that "the real Cavani" will be witnessed soon at the Parc des Princes.

"Everyone knows that he is a great player," the Qatari told Canal + of the forward.

"He has now scored the goal, he was not 100 per cent fit, but I hope that next week we will see Cavani - the real Cavani."
