Ibrahimovic rues wastefulness

The Swede was unhappy with how many opportunities went begging in their 1-1 draw with Ajaccio, but praised Edinson Cavani's goalscoring performance.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has criticised Paris Saint-Germain's profligacy and refused to make excuses for missed opportunities following the side's 1-1 draw with Ajaccio on Sunday.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions needed a late equaliser from summer signing Edinson Cavani to prevent an embarrassing home defeat following a similar stalemate in their opening clash with Montpellier.

The Swedish striker did not want to

blame to dropped points on Ajaccio's luck and was keen for the team to accept responsibility, though he did praise Cavani for scoring in his home debut and salvaging a point for PSG.

"I think we were dominant in this game, but we didn't score," the 31-year-old told reporters after the match.

"We had a lot of opportunities, and to say that they were lucky, that the goalkeeper played a good game... I think [it's the] opposite. When you have a lot of chances like this, you should score more. Today we didn't but we created chances.

"I think Edi scored a fantastic goal today, [but] we get only one point today.

"We have to continue to work hard, to find our rhythm, to find our game, to do it better and, when we get opportunity to score, we should score.

"I think [Cavani] had a good game, he scored an amazing goal - his first game at home he scores. I can imagine how he feels because my first game I scored and it's a fantastic feeling.

"He will score even more goals, so I'm not worried about that. When the team plays even better, the strikers will do even better. It's a good start for him."
