The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move
this summer, but the club has held its ground over the 30 million euro
transfer fee it has placed on the striker
Valencia coach Miroslav Djukic has admitted that star striker Roberto Soldado could leave the club this summer.Soldado's future has been the subject of much speculation, leading club president Amadeo Salvo to state that the 28-year-old could leave the Mestalla for 30 million euros (25.9 million pounds).
"The possibility that he will leave is real," Djukic is quoted as saying by Super Deporte.
"Soldado is our striker and if he stays then he will be the reference point up front."
Even if Soldado leaves, Djukic revealed that the Liga club is already looking to bolster a thin forward line.
He added: "Valencia are working on various options in case Soldado does leave, but we have too (few) forwards, either with Soldado or especially without him.
"We have to remember though that Valencia the club is greater than any player."
The former Real Madrid attacker's contract at Mestalla runs until June 2017.
